The nikko trip was with Abe san and his kind family. First
of all I should thank him and his family for taking me to there. It was a
very nice trip. We started from my apartment by 5.30 am in the morning,
and reached nikko by 7.30 am. There are a lot of places to see there in
the nokko.
The Nikko National Park (about 1400 square kilometres)
contains beautiful forests lakes and mountains such as the Nantai
volcano. There are many water falls, kegon falls, ryusus falls, yudaki
falls etc etc. Each and every water fall has it own specialty. The Keogn
water fall is unique with its height (more details will be added latter).
Then there is one famous shrine in nokko - oshogo shrine. The Toshogu
Shrine was built for Tokugawa Ieyasu after his death. It contains the
mausoleum of Ieyasu who is one of the most important figures in Japanese
history, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate that lasted for over 250
years until 1867. The Toshogu Shrine is very famous for its colorful and
sumptuously decorated buildings which are untypical for - usually in
simple styles built. (Please visit again. I shall add photos of Toshugu
shrine soon). Then we could enjoy the beautiful nature of Oku Nikko where
are Mt. Nantai, the tableland of Senjogahara(It is a mountain) and Lake
Chuzenji-ko. Also we could see the color changes of the leaves.
